Reading this article on the Cold War between Flash and Standards, I found an interview with Douglas Bowman from 2002. In this interview, Bowman describes his experience of redesigning the website for Wired News, according to web standards. Here he refers to the simplicity and efficiency of using CSS to replace the tables.

In addition, to this illustration of the web standards, it is intriguing to notice that despite the rapid changes which occur in the web environment, the debate between the adepts of Flash and those of web standards is still going on. Moreover, as Joe Clark points in his article, this debate is extending. Now it includes not only the nature of the websites, but also the character of e-books.
